There’s all sorts of useful advice in this picture book. Not only should you not let an elephant drive a digger, it isn’t advisable either to let a polar bear cut your hair, or a seal prepare your meal; and you should never go to the loo with a kangaroo. In fact, it concludes, it’s far more sensible to forget about letting the various animals help and just play with them instead. Each zany situation will have children laughing out loud and they’ll soon be joining in with the lively rhyming text. David Tazzyman’s illustrations inject an extra layer of wild excitement and anarchy, and this deserves to become a huge favourite with readers.
