The Girl Who Rode the Wind is such a beautiful book it really teaches you a lesson on Love, Loss, forgiveness, heartbreak and determination I would definitely recommend this book to any reader aged between 11-13.
A horse obsessed Lola who lives in New York but has Italian heritage is desperate to become a jockey when her grandmother decides to take Lola to Italy for the first time Lola is so excited but Lola soon finds out that it is her grandmothers heartbreaking past that has brought them back to Italy. This book has taught me so much about the Italian culture and traditions but I think the main message of the book is forgiveness and love.
