Rules for Vampires: Ghosts Bite Back

Ever heard the joke about the skeleton having no-body to go with to the party? Leo just might find herself in the opposite of that in book 2 of this great series!

Warning: You won’t want to put this book down as it has lots of tension and cliffhangers! The story continues from the first book and it is great to see what happened next. The main character Leo gets a letter which tells her she has to go to Ghostly Court for the murder of the Orphan master or else they will come to her. To get into the Ghostly Realm, Leo has to separate her soul from her body but she doesn’t know how. Ulfric the post-ghost, knows but his help comes at a price which could be dangerous. Will Leo be able to disconnect in time and if she does, what will happen to her body whilst her soul enters the Ghostly Realm? It’s a great story which is easy and engrossing to read.

Amazingly fantastical and wickedly exciting. Similar to adventure and action books. I hope this series is continued and I will look out for more books by Alex Foulkes.

Rules for Vampires: Ghosts Bite Back is a continuation of the first book, Rules for Vampires. This novel is a totally engrossing and lip-biting tale with Leo the vampire and her ghost friend Minna.
I would rate this book 5 stars and would recommend to any of my friends and kids aged 9 and over.

Fantastically ghoulish and funny story. Haunting illustrations and strong main characters.

Rules for Vampires, Ghosts bite back is a ghoulish and monstrously funny read. I just couldn't put it down. The descriptions really capture your imagination and you feel like you are flying through the night sky with the best of friends.
Children around the age of 9 and above would love this story.
Fantastically haunting illustrations throughout. I especially loved the flying bats across the pages.
The main characters are funny and the best of friends.

A great book for over Halloween. A funny read.

A book about an unusual friendship between a vampire and ghost. The second book in the Rules for Vampires series which tells us about Leo the Vampire and Minna the Ghost. Having ‘murdered’ the Orphanmaster in the first book, Leo must now face the Ghostly Realm and prove her innocence and worth. I liked the illustrations. It is a funny, easy to read book, but not quite as good as the first one. It would suit readers who want something to read for Halloween but find the Skullduggery series a bit too dark and gruesome.

I didn’t put the book down and I got into the book as if I was there.

A Vampire and a Ghost being friends never really happens.
It is so strange. The two have not liked one another for all eternity.
Leo the vampire and Minna the ghost have battled together side-by-side, they're sisters-in-arms, they're best friends, they have to work together to a new defeat a deadly threat.
Leo must complete three tasks to prove herself.
Leo must convince the Ghostly Realm and show her innocence to earn her freedom or she will be trapped.
A great book, not scary but spooky. I loved the book just in time for Halloween as I love Halloween. I didn’t put the book down and I got into the book as if I was there. I found the book funny in places.
It is a good book about friendship and being there for one another.

This book is both spooky and funny, which makes it a really enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes humour and suspense!

I have always enjoyed Alex Foulkes' books and this one didn't let me down. This book is both spooky and funny, which makes it really enjoyable to read. The main characters are Minna and Leo who are best of friends and who find themselves having to prove themselves against a new danger. They go on a scary adventure after being summoned by the Ghostly Realm, where Leo has to battle for her freedom.
This book kept me hooked and the illustrations added to setting the scene of the story and the characters in my head. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes humour and suspense!

Can Leo and Minna work together to help Leo win her freedom and prove she didn't do anything

I couldn't wait to read this as I loved the first one. Leo is made to prove herself worthy of her unlife after the death of the orphanmaster. Can she complete the tasks set for her and prove she didn't do it to the ghostly realm and win her freedom with the help from Minna the ghost who battles by her side?

Spooky, quirky and a little bit dark

Leo is a young vampire (she’s only just over one hundred) who is facing a powerful enemy: a ghostly judge on a quest to gain revenge after Leo killed her husband (the Orphanmaster- who was as evil as the name suggests). Leo has to travel into the ghost world with her friend Minna, who along the way learns more about what it means to be a ghost.

This is the second book about Leo and her ghostly friend Minna, and it probably would be helpful if you’ve read the first in the series. I hadn’t, so it was a bit confusing in parts - but not impossible to work out what was going on.

I think this would be ideal for readers of about 8-11 who like their books a little spooky, quirky and dark (but not too scary).
