Tonka Uzu was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria and is currently based in Cambridge, UK. She studied art at Bologna University and the Cambridge School of Art where she has just become Associate Lecturer. Tonka's illustrations were selected for the Bologna Illustrators exhibition in 2011, the Illustrating Life IV exhibition in Beijing in 2019 and CICLA in Shanghai in 2020, and her book Olga and Olaf in Spiaggia was a finalist in the Nati per Leggere award 2020.
