Rudy the young werewolf and his friends, Femi the mummy and Edie the ghost, are sure to win lots of fans amongst young readers.

Passionate skateboarders all, their adventures are lively and engaging, a cast of supernatural neighbours adding a spookily delicious and distinct flavour. In this episode Rudy discovers a little wolf cub lost in the park. He takes the cub home, sure his parents will take in the little creature, but they want to think about it, pointing out that looking after a cub is a big responsibility.

Impatient, Rudy sets off alone to Gnarlybark Forest that night, determined to find Wolfie’s pack. Some surprising encounters with trolls and a skeleton later, not to mention a narrow escape from quicksand, and his mum finds them there, alerted by Rudy’s werewolf howls. Agreeing they’ll sort it out together, as a pack, all ends happily and on a reassuring note.

With short chapters, lots of bright illustrations and a snappy text, this is great for readers ready to tackle longer stories and lots of fun.
