There are no shortage of suspects and red herrings a-plenty, while the setting – the coast off Dubrovnik and the old town itself – raise levels of reading enjoyment even higher. Well-plotted, atmospheric, filled with fascinating facts (historical and relating to marine life), this is another excellent crime mystery in what is proving to be a very good series.

A. M. Howell comments: "When I was a child, my dad had to take many sabbaticals abroad for his job and we often traveled by sea. One of my earliest memories is being three years old and crossing the equator while onboard the RMS Edinburgh Castle on our way to South Africa. I grew to love the smell of the sea, the vastness of the space around me and the vibrations and rolls of a ship. All of this captured my imagination and now, years later, has inspired me to write Mysteries at Sea, which I hope will both thrill and inspire young readers, taking them on an exciting journey of their own across the ocean waves."
