Write some text explaining puberty to children and parents

Puberty is an exciting and challenging time for both children and parents. It is a time of physical, emotional, and social changes.

For children, puberty marks the beginning of adulthood. During this time, their bodies begin to change and they begin to mature. As their bodies mature, they will experience growth spurts, changes in their skin, hair, and body shape, and the development of secondary sex characteristics, such as breasts for girls and facial hair for boys.

Children will also experience a variety of emotional changes as they adjust to their changing bodies and increased independence. They may become moodier and more sensitive to criticism. These changes usually start happening around the ages of 10 to 14 in boys and 8 to 13 in girls. Usually, changes in their bodies will go on for a few years after they start, and most will finish puberty by the time they turn 18.

For parents, puberty can be a difficult time. It is important to remember that your child is growing and changing, and they will need your support and guidance. Talk to your child openly and honestly about the changes they are experiencing and encourage them to ask questions.

Sometimes puberty can feel confusing, stressful, or embarrassing, but you’re not alone. To help suppprt, we have created a collection of books to help advise, educate and support families to navigate puberty.

Remember, we don't all develop in the same way. No two people are at exactly the same stage as they go through puberty, and everyone changes at his or her own pace. But eventually everyone catches up, and the differences will even out. It's also good to keep in mind that there is no right or wrong way to look. That's what makes us human — we all have qualities that make us unique, on the inside and the outside. Remember, you've got this!
